For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: - (i) served for cumulative service period of ten (10) years three (3) years of which must have been in the grade of Principal Lecturer, CSG 8 or in comparable and relevant position in the public service; (ii) a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: - Education, Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports Management, Sports and Recreation Management, Sports and Exercise Science, Leisure and Recreational Exercise Management or equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya; (iii) a certificate in Training of Trainers (TOT) lasting not less than one (1) week from a recognized institution for officers who do not hold a Bachelor of Education degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Education; (iv) a certificate in Outdoor Experiential Training lasting not less than 3 (three) weeks from a recognized institution; (v) a certificate in Para- Military Training lasting not less than three (3) months from recognized institution; and (vi) demonstrated professional competences and administrative ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities An officer at this level will be deployed to Head a Training Section. Duties and responsibilities will include: - (i) facilitating outdoor experiential education lessons; (ii) overseeing the implementation of safety and risk management policies; (iii) inspecting training schemes, logbooks and confidential reports; (iv) coordinating research programs on experimental education and merging trends; (v) designing, reviewing and implementing training programs; (vi) developing training materials; (vii) providing consultancy in the respective field; (viii) providing logistical support; (ix) preparing course reports; (x) conducting training for senior management; and (xi) staff training and development
